The Green Sheep Collection
Our brand new Green Sheep Collection is our line of organic yarns. The fiber that the yarn is created from was grown in a certified organic way and the processing was certified organic. We do use chemical dyes, but we feel that the impact our dyes make on the environment is minimal. You can read more about our environmental philosophies here.
The wool yarns are all 100% organic superfine merino. This yarn is unbelievably soft and smooshy. Its a joy to work with because of how much cushion their is to the yarn. We have been using it for everything from sweaters to baby items to shawls. Because it is organic, it has not been treated to make it superwash. This means that this yarn is feltable and needs to be handwashed.
The cotton/bamboo yarn is a great option for people with wool sensitivities or who live in warmer climates. Its comes in a soft 3-ply worsted weight yarn and a 2-ply fingering weight, both with a lovely sheen and soft, supple hand. We think it will be great for summer tops, baby items and summer accessories.
