Cherry Blossom

"My husband and I went to Napa, CA earlier this month because my husband was running the Napa Valley Marathon. We thought that Napa would be really pretty, but it turned out to be not so--at least not where we were staying. Our hotel was RIGHT next to a major highway. We were pretty bummed.

To make matters worse, I hadn't realized that our hotel was not near the marathon finish line. Because I didn't know this, we didn't put me down as a driver for the rental car. Of course, the finish line was about 2 miles away! So the morning of the marathon, I had to walk to finish line (my husband was bussed to the start line).

As I started my journey to the finish line, I passed a group of cherry blossom trees. I looked up and saw the pink flowers and red leaves surrounded by a brilliant blue sky. It was gorgeous and I started snapping photos. Thank goodness, I left on my walk earlier than I needed to, because I spent a lot of time with those trees.

The rest of the trip was uneventful and the photos that I took of the trees turned out to be the best of the entire vacation."
